Beginings

AGHHHHHHH! I'm so excited. I just finished transferring the drawing for my soon-to-be newest piece. It's of a motorcycle...well the guts actually.

After working with the small bits of crome in the harness of the horses I just finished, I started thinking about how long it's been since I've done a vehicle. Plus, 'Wanted Dead or Alive' by Bon Jovi came on my playlist often, while painting the team, and that lyric "On a steel horse I ride" was so inspirational. I paint horses all the time, why not paint a "steel" one? I had a picture I snapped during the summer that immediately came to mind. Anytime I see a gorgeous bike, I tend to take a picture. I never have the intention to paint it down the road, but if I see one that catches my eye, and I happen to have my camera, I'll snap a pic.

I have a thing for motorcycles, particularly Harley's. I've always wanted to get a Harley Sportster. I figure it's the perfect bike for me because it's one of the smallest (I'm not the biggest girl) so I figure I could handle a bike that size. My infatuation with bikes started in high school. I was dating a boy that introduced me to the world of motorcycles (promising to teach me to ride which he never did. GRRRRRRRRRRR) and was working at Hallmark. Hallmark has a collection of ornaments they premier every year and happened to introduce a new series...Harley Davidson Motorcycles. I bought one of each (regular and mini size) and have been collecting them ever since. I now have 28. I love themed Christmas trees and for the past four years have had a Harley Tree. It's soooooooooooooooooo awesome!

I'm really going to enjoy working on this piece, although it's going to be very tedius because it's pretty much all crome. But I'm ready for a challenge. I hope it turns out as good as I want it to. I think I may post updates of my progress every now and then like I did with 'Blue on Black'.
